The Jamestown Jammers ended their season with service when they visited the Tanglewood Group on July,31st 2015. Tanglewood is a local, privately owned group that specializes in memory care and affordable support for the community’s aging loved ones, with an array of flexible services available. The Jamestown Jammers local baseball team spent an afternoon engaging with the community and spreading enthusiasm and team spirit to the residents of Tanglewood.
Players that visited Tanglewood included Eric Solberg, Nick Vehlewald, and Steven Accosta, as well as team interns Kelly Vincent and Kassidy Carlson. Also, to the delight of Tanglewood residents, Jammers mascot “Bubba Grape the Baseball Ape” tagged along to partake in several group activities within Tanglewood Manor, Memory Garden and Comfort Today Adult Day Services and Spa. Business Manager for the Jammers, Tony Firsch says on the experience, “It was a great opportunity for our players to visit Tanglewood Manor, taking some time away from the field and spending some time with locals. Getting our guys out into the community is something we place much importance on, it's more than the game of baseball! Our guys had a ton of fun at Tanglewood, putting together puzzles, partaking in a birthday party, and even a Hawaiian luau!” The residents of Tanglewood are looking forward to attending games next season and supporting the local Prospect League baseball team.
The Jamestown Jammers just concluded their season with an overall record of 26-34. The Jammers look forward to the next exciting season of Prospect League Baseball here in Jamestown, NY. To come support local athletics, purchase your tickets at 414-224-9283 or visit
