Tanglewood Group Recognizes 2014 Employee of the Year
December 10, 2014
Cindy Mullard was recently honored as the 2014 Employee of the Year at the Tanglewood Group’s Annual Employee Recognition assembly. Chief Operating Officer Terri Ingersoll praised the honorees’ contributions stating, “We are both proud and pleased to recognize Cindy Mullard as a shining example of loyal and dedicated service to our residents and organization.” Ms. Mullard, who serves as Tanglewood’s medication compliance officer, was also acknowledged as having over 25 years of service. She will receive 2 round-trip airline tickets to her choice of destination anywhere in the continental US or Caribbean and $1000 in spending money as her award.
Other achievements that were noted at the ceremony included the ‘Flawless Attendance’ award, a $600 bonus given to employees who had no unexcused absences or tardiness during the preceding 12 months. This year’s awardees included husband and wife Richard and Wanda Peterson, who work in the maintenance and housekeeping departments; dietary employees Maggie Kent and Valerie Nordine; Mark McIntosh, and Jonas Parsons, also from the maintenance department; and housekeeper Colleen Moeller. Tina Trusso, the Director of Personal Care, was also acknowledged as the next employee in line for the Service Award. Ms. Trusso, who has over 14 years of service, was presented with an inscribed watch.
Owner Nick Ferreri presided over the gathering, which is held annually to recognize and reward Tanglewood employees’ hard work and dedication throughout the year. He was joined by Chautauqua County Executive Vince Horrigan and Lisa Vanstrom, Assistant to Senator Cathy Young. Horrigan and Vanstrom assisted with the annual raffle drawings. The drawings are held each year as an opportunity for eligible employees to receive an additional bonus by random selection. In order to be eligible for the drawing, an employee must have been selected as the Employee of the Month during the year or have had perfect attendance for at least one month. This year’s recipients, Kristie Gibbs and Katrina Marks, both from the personal care department, were each awarded $500.
The awards ceremony was preceded by Tanglewood’s traditional staff ‘Christmas Tea’, a buffet-style luncheon that was catered by Sandee’s Bakery. Each employee was also presented with a boneless ham.
