Our Co-ed Choral Group Entertains Everyone

"This is the closest place to Heaven. I wouldn't want to be any other place. My daughter can come and drive away saying, 'Mother, I don't have to worry about you there.' "

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for admission?
Residents must be ambulatory, but may use a cane, walker or crutches. They must be able to transfer without chronic assistance. Through our Assisted Living or Levels of Care programs, residents with continuous oxygen, incontinence of bowel and/or bladder, and insulin dependent diabetics may receive Personal Care services.

How does the admission process work?
Contact one of our staff at 716-483-2876. We will set up an interview with the potential resident for screening. This screening can take place at Tanglewood or in the home, hospital or nursing home. We have a short application to be filled out and a medical form that must be completed by your physician prior to admission. As soon as those three steps are completed, admission can take place, depending on room availability.

How are a physician's services provided?
We recently expanded the in-house services offered by professional medical staff, for the convenience of residents who choose their services. Two well-known local physicians have regularly scheduled office hours at Tanglewood Manor. Buffalo Ultrasound provides X-rays and diagnostic testing, and ACL Laboratories draws blood for lab work right here in our facility. We also provide podiatry and optometrist appointments monthly, right here at Tanglewood Manor.

Can residents keep medication in their rooms?
Prescription medication is not allowed in residents' rooms. With a doctor's written order, over-the-counter medications may be kept in a resident's room. All medication is stored and administered in a routine fashion at the designated medical aide station.

Are phones and TVs permitted in resident rooms?
Yes, every resident can have their own telephone hooked up and television service in their room. We are pleased to offer our residents an alternative cable source that could provide cost savings and same-day service for hookup. Ask about Direct TV.

Is there mail service?
Mail is dropped off at the front office, sorted and delivered directly to each resident's room. We are willing and able to assist residents who need help with insurance claims, bills, etc.

When are meals served?
Our delicious meals are served at 8:30am (breakfast), 12:30pm (lunch), and 5:30pm (dinner). We also have snack breaks with juice and coffee throughout each day.

Are guests welcomed for meals?
Residents are welcome to invite guests for meals as long as the kitchen is notified in advance and a meal ticket is purchased from our main office or receptionist during business hours.
